Instead of sitting in bed binge watching Friends for the third week in a row – get out and do something. There are a variety of options in downtown Parkville.

Everything here is in walking distance from the Park University, with prices to fit every college students’ budget.

English Landing Park (Free)

English Landing Park is located on the riverfront directly in front of Park University. When the flooding subsides, its trails will again be available for jogging or biking while taking in a breathtaking view. It is also home to a sand volleyball court, playgrounds and even covered picnic areas.

Parkville Nature Sanctuary (Free)

This 115-acre outdoor wildlife preserve offers many almost three miles of hiking trails for traveling through a gorgeous view of trees, waterfalls and creeks. Located off of East 12th Street, this sanctuary offers a quiet place to enjoy the weather and get some great exercise.

Parkville Mini Golf ($)

This 18-hole mini golf course is located at 7 West 1st St. in downtown Parkville. It overlooks downtown Parkville and is a great way to support a local business. One round of mini golf costs $8 for adults, $5 for children 11 and under, and children 3 and under are free.

Parkville Coffee ($)

Looking for a place to study? Ditch your loud roommate and come to Parkville Coffee located on 103 Main St. This two-floor coffee house offers all the comforts of home like free WiFi and cozy decor. They also sell an array of coffees, teas, pastries, soups, salads and sandwiches.

Café Des Amis ($$)

Café Des Amis is a French bistro on 112 Main St. that offers a unique cuisine for the area. Customers can enjoy appetizers, such as escargot or pâté maison, as well as soups, salads, many different entrees and dessert.
