No. 1 Ranked Women’s Volleyball
The Park University women’s volleyball team is ranked first in the nation. They’ve had a perfect season so far, going 15-0 without losing a single set, as of September 26.
In their first tournament of the season at Columbia College, Park University had their work cut out for them with the previous number one school, Lindsey Wilson College, and fourth-ranked team, Viterbo University. The Pirates were up to the task and swept those opponents, plus two more, in that tournament in Columbia, Mo.
There have been three players selected for AMC players of the week and two for the NAIA national players of the week. Nada Meawad, AMC attacker of the week, Celina Monteiro, defender of the week, and Danna Gomes, setter of the week during the week of August 26 through September 1. Nada Meawad and Celina Monteiro were the NAIA national players of the week.
The Pirates will be back in action at home in the Breckon Sports Center Friday, September 28 against Williams Baptist University and Saturday, September 29 against Freed-Hardeman University.
