Park University had a Drag Show held in Alumni Hall on Friday Feb. 1. The Drag Show was put on by the Drag Club.

This was the second Drag Show held at Park University, and it had a great turn out. The theater was practically full with students who came to support each other and have a fun night.

The hosts of the Drag Show were Wynter, Lakeisha Diamonds, Mrs. Coco Puffs, Rambunctious Ryandal and the special Guest Sebryna Serafina. Even with the amazing line up they still allowed people to come on stage, making it interactive for the audience and adding some surprise to the show.

Allison Davison, a member of PSAB, said having a drag show on campus is “incredibly inclusive and thoughtful.”

“It provides an outlet for students to express themselves, hone their talents and really just have fun,” she said. “It also helps the student body appreciate and support people who express aspects of their creativity differently.”

While the drag show was fun for everyone it also had a secondary purpose. The money it raised went toward charity. The charity was Kansas City Anti-Violence Project, which is currently the only LGBTQ-specific domestic violence or sexual assault service organization in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska or Iowa.
