The Middle Kansas City, 109 Main Street Parkville, MO 64152, is a locally owned and regionally sourced store whose mission is to bring unique, quality made product to the Northland.

Michael Hollaway, the owner of The Middle Kansas City, lives in Parkville with his wife Keely and their four year old son, Tommy. Michael spent many years working for Nordstrom before deciding to start his own business. “It was all about my family,” said Michael, “I opened the store to spend more time with my son.”

Doors have been open at The Middle Kansas City for a year and a half now while partnering with not only Kansas City artists but Parkville artists and small batched artists as well.

The Middle Kansas City also partners with Park University. “The Middle was the first merchant outside of Park University to sell Park stuff,” said Michael, “we were also the first store in downtown Parkville to partner with Park, no one else reached out to them.” The Middle Kansas City carries a wide variety of uniquely made Park University apparel. Michael reveals that they are working on a designated area in the store to specifically carry more Park University product.

Brooke Burdick, Nursing student at Park University, has been working at The Middle Kansas City for 6 months now but has been close family friends with the Hollaway family for at least 6 years. She is the only employee besides Michael himself. “It’s a really friendly and welcoming environment,” said Brooke, “Michael is a great boss and I love working closely with such great family friends.”

The Middle Kansas City is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm as well as Sunday’s from 10am to 3pm.
