Park University’s International Center for Music will present a special concert, “Faculty Side-by-side with Principal Members of the Kansas City Symphony,” on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan.
The event will pair ICM faculty, including cellist Daniel Veis, pianist Lolita Lisovkaya-Sayevich, and violist Christine Grossman, with Kansas City Symphony principals such as concertmaster Jun Iwasaki and principal cellist Mark Gibbs. Together, they will perform chamber works that spotlight collaboration and musicianship across both groups.
Organizers say the concert is an extension of ICM’s mission to combine education with professional artistry. The 1900 Building, known for its acoustics, provides an excellent setting for audiences to experience classical music performed by world-class musicians.
Tickets are required and available through the ICM website. Seating is limited, so reservations are encouraged.
For students and community members, the concert offers a chance to see top-level faculty and symphony musicians share the stage. It is a rare opportunity that highlights Park’s role in bringing world-class performances to the Kansas City region.
