A morning on the golf course will mean much more than birdies and bogeys this October.
The annual Park University Golf Scramble is set for Monday, Oct. 6. The scramble offers a rare chance for local golfers to play at the National Golf Club of Kansas City, a private course not often open to the public.
The day begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Teams of four can sign up online for $1,500. Costs cover a complete tournament experience, including 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, access to the driving range, on-course refreshments and snacks, a reception following the completion of play and prizes. Teams will also receive invitations to Arr & Arrr, which is an event held in February that celebrates female student-athletes and National Women and Girls in Sport Month.
Sponsorships are also being offered, giving local businesses and investors an opportunity to connect with the Park community while supporting student-athletes. Sponsorship opportunities make the event more than a competition; they highlight the ongoing partnership between Park and its supporters.
Those interested can reach out to Celeste Lupercio, Park’s director of corporate and foundation relations, at [email protected] or (816) 584-6399.
Funds raised will support all 19 of Park’s athletic programs, which compete in the NAIA and the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The scramble has become one of the most significant fundraisers the University hosts, bringing together alumni, students, and supporters.
The event emphasizes community pride and the continued growth of Pirate athletics, ensuring student-athletes have the resources they need to succeed both on and off the field.
A day playing on the greens will mean much more than just lowering a handicap. Visit park.edu/golf for more information.
