Graduation- Final Walk

Due to COVID-19, this year’s graduation ceremony will be held virtually. After hearing how much of a disappointment this is for seniors, Director of Student Engagement Mya Lawrence wanted to create an event that would allow for a safe, in-person celebration. The result is being called The Final Walk.

“It’s kind of like their last stroll around campus,” said Lawrence. “The purpose is for us as a Park community to be able to come together in order to celebrate them.”

The event will take place on May 7, beginning at 3 p.m. outside of Copley Quad. Staff, faculty and other classmates are encouraged to line up along the street to cheer on graduates as they take their last walk around campus.

Graduates will walk around the side of Copley-Thaw Hall, up the hill between Mackay Hall and Thompson Commons, and the route will end at Norrington Center. Alumni affairs, career development, and graduate admissions and success departments will have booths set up outside of Norrington with information regarding post-graduation opportunities and swag for the seniors.

Seniors planning to participate are encouraged to RSVP in advance at the link here.
